Was cleaning off my desk and came across this postcard from my last trip to Big Star and now I just want to eat tacos which I'm not doing at the moment and that's sort of like mild torture. If you've had Big Star you feel my pain.

2016: day 293 For the love of Madison
Last weekend I spent some time in Madison wondering around the Capitol with my dear sister. We went up to the observation deck to enjoy the view, and happily strolled the streets in the October sunshine. At the Capitol you can still get postcards for a a quarter, and that includes tax so I bought a few.

incoming mail!
I've been remiss in getting stuff up when it arrives, but there have been delightful bits of mail showing up at my house for weeks, all summer long. Here's a sampling:

week 28: a little letterpress love
I'm starting to package and ship the reminder of my Kickstarter rewards, so I've started to grasp what is remainder so I sent off a few 'remainder' postcards with messages to friends.

week 28: 4th of July remembered
I was lucky enough to take an impromptu trip to NYC for fourth of July weekend because I have friends to crash with. Seems fitting to send this as their thank you.
In case you've noticed that the picture format/dimensions have changed, that's because my cell phone died last weekend and I was forced to unexpectedly pick out something new, as I was phoneless. New images are courtesy of the Nexus 5x; so far I like it, but I don't really care for the proportions of their images. I was a huge fan of the 'widescreen' feeling proportions of the images from the LG G3. (PS I don't like change.)

incoming mail!
I have been remiss as of late with the blog, focusing on my Letters from Cuba letterpress project, but today I received vintage Paris postcards found in Paris from one Megan ad a postcard from House on the Rock from the other Megan so I had to share!

week 16: Letters from Cuba rewards and other things
I've been fulfilling more rewards and shipped off more this week; I also sent some letters with copious amounts of vintage postage and articles of topics I thought would intrigue friends including the one about female olympians below

I took a trip to visit with a friend after she had a major surgery at Mayo in Rochester, Minnesota so my week was filled with Minnesota postcard hunting and a few other random things

week 12: New York state of mind; again
Somehow I have managed to travel to New York for the second time in roughly a month, and already my second time of 2016. So this week was filled with postcards of our travels, mostly form the epic trip we took to the top of One World Trade Center. (It was awesome, I'd never done it before and I would highly recommend it on a clear day.)
My favorite finds are these aluminum postcards; the instructions say 'Use a permanent maker. Mail with regular postage.'
And, because it was so awesome, here are some pictures from the observation deck:
